Bar In Brooklyn Serves Beer And Provides Skateboarding Area –

Jessica Wertz, owner of Black Bear Bar in Brooklyn, decided to utilize the empty space she had at her bar and put a skate bowl.

Beer and skateboarding doesn’t usually mix too well, so the bar strictly forbids skating under the influence and monitors the skaters in the bowl.

We don’t want people puking in the bowl, but more like an exhibition or atmosphere for people to come in, have a beer, and watch people skate.

Skating is free, usually from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

It’s been gaining popularity amongst the local skaters where they can skate when the weathers rainy or too cold.
